Overview
Each hole earns points for your net score. A blow-up hole just scores zero, so you can’t be buried by one triple.
Points
- Standard: double bogey or worse 0, bogey 1, par 2, birdie 3, eagle 4, albatross 5.
- Modified: double bogey −3, bogey −1, par 0, birdie 2, eagle 5, albatross 8. Rewards aggression.
- Big birdies: double bogey 0, bogey 1, par 2, birdie 4, eagle 8, albatross 16, the Chicago points. A birdie is worth two pars.
Money
Highest points wins. By default each player puts in and the top total takes the pot. Or pay per point: every pair settles the difference, so each point wins the bet from every other player.
House rules
- Front, back and total: played for a pot over 18 holes, the front nine, the back nine and the 18 are a pot each, each at the amount you set. Most points on each nine takes that nine’s pot, and most for the round takes the third. A nine still being played pays on the holes so far.
